In an astonishing turn of events at the Notting Hill Carnival 2018, the London Mermaids Association surprised attendees with an impromptu performance of dancing and singing. The Sun described the spectacle as ‘mermerising’.
Fifteen year old Chris, who was on the front row, described the scene to How To Date A Magical Creature: “I had never before or since seen anything so beautiful. I am in love, and I want to lose my virginity to the beautiful mermaid with the dark green tail and long red hair.” When reminded that they all had dark green tails and long red hair, the boy simply replied: “I know.”
When asked for a comment on this rare appearance, a spokesperson for the London Mermaids Association responded: “The London-based mermaids have always been great fans of the Notting Hill Carnival. They thought it would be fun to get together and provide a little dance for everyone. It took some planning around logistics, and we worked hard with the police to get the right water tanks as some of our mermaids are very very tall. We were delighted with how it all turned out. Hopefully there will be more in the future.”
Chris will certainly be keeping his fingers crossed…
